So last week we made it to Target!!!! Here's a recap....
I loaded Emma into the car as she was sleeping and headed to Target. She slept the whole way there so I was encouraged that perhaps she would sleep though the whole thing. I also had it in my head that I'd make it to the parking lot but no further. So we get to the parking lot and sure enough right as the car stops Emma's little eyes open. She's not crying so I take a deep breath and attempt to concur my fear.
I parked as remotely as I possibly could because, truth be told, I wasn't quite sure how I was going to maneuver. Would her carrier fit into the cart or would it sit up on the top between where kids sit and where I push? I needed some time to figure this out in private. So I get out of the car, grab a cart and get Emma (who will remain in the carrier). She is still not crying so I know now I have to go through with this. The carrier fits on the cart so we make our way into the store. Emma is just looking around at this point. Inside the store she is wide eyed and looking around. I am trying to get everything I need quickly because I know my time could be short. We are in the card isle and there is another woman at the other end of the isle - I am trying to quickly find some birthday cards when Emma passes some very loud gas. I laugh out loud and look over at the woman who shoots me a dirty look. I am sure she thought that I did it, and even worse, I laughed about it!
Next we make it to the toy isle to get some birthday gifts. I don't know if any of you have been down a baby doll isle in a Target recently - I had not! I have to say it was a very frightening experience, most of the dolls had motion sensors so as we made our way down the isle the baby dolls made all kinds of sounds - which set Emma off. She started to howl! I quickly grabbed what ever I could find and made my way to checkout. As I am paying for the stuff, Emma is crying and the lady who is checking us out has the nerve to say "She's too little!". I was fuming inside, I said calmly, as if I need to jusify myself "she's two months old" and the woman said "oh she looks younger".
As we walked out into the beautiful sunshine, Emma smiled up at me and I sighed a huge sigh of relief. It wasn't perfect but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!!! Looks like we made it!

Who's Sleeping???
Another thing I have been completely dreading is putting Emma down in her crib for the night. She has been sleeping in her bassinet right next to me since we brought her home. Andy says I practically sleep in the bassinet with her and if it was big enough I probably would jump in there. I like having her there because I can check up on her constantly but I know that there will come a point in time where she will need to have her own space.
Yesterday morning I woke up and Emma was scrunched up in a tiny corner of the bassinet - she looked so uncomfortable! And I started thinking that maybe it was time to get over my fear of putting her in her crib for the night. So after her dinner I proceeded to put her in the crib but told myself that if she woke up to eat at 10 I'd put her in the bassinet. Well, 10 pm rolled around and she was sleeping peacefully and comfortably in the crib. I started having a mental conversation with myself - "should I wake her?" "I am not ready for this?" "should I close the window?" "Is she too hot?" "the doctor said to start putting her in her crib" "she looks comfortable." " I am not ready for this".
After completely over thinking the whole situation I decided it would be best for Emma to sleep in her crib.
I hooked up the monitor and prepared myself for a long night.
Sure enough I woke up every half and hour to check in on her, my monitor is video so at least I could see her there. At one point it didn't sound like she was breathing. I watched for awhile to see if I could see her chest move and nothing...I started to panic and have that inner conversation with myself again- "should I go in there?" "she's okay you are crazy" "I need to go in there" "She's okay".
Just as I start to get out of bed I hear "Tooot Tooot Toot" and Emma lets out one of her gas smiles.
I laugh out loud and that takes the edge of the whole situation!
Emma slept peacefully through the night and I tried not to make myself crazy!
So it's official, she's moved to her own room, and I feel a little sad about the whole thing.......I can't imagine what it's going to be like when she leaves for college!!!

Venturing out....
I have to say I have been pretty much terrified to go out in public with Emma! And its not because I think she is going to get sick or anything like that. Its because I can see myself at Target with her screaming like she does so well! I would have this huge cart full of stuff and she would be screaming and everyone would be staring at me and giving me those you don't have any idea what you are doing glares. And then what would I do with all the stuff in the cart - would I continue to shop? or would I need to leave to calm Emma? Would the cart just stay stranded somewhere in the middle of the store? I can see myself running from Target, red faced with a screaming Emma in my arms.
I know eventually I am going to have to get over my fear. My mom says I can't be a recluse all my life (although when I was little I dreamed of being a recluse on top of some mountain in Colorado!). I've started slowly, so far Emma, Snoopy and I have had some fun car rides and yesterday Emma and I actually got out of the car. Here's how it all went down:
It was about 1 pm and I was HUNGRY, there was nothing to eat in the house. So I decided to get Snoopy and Emma in the car and make a trip through the Wendy's drive through. The only problem was that I only had 5 dollars and I didn't know if that would cut it (remember I AM HUNGRY!). So I am going to have to get some money but my bank does not have a drive through so that means I am going to have to get out of the car. Which poses two problems the first is I'll have to take Emma in with me and the second is Snoopy does not do well alone in the car. I decide to brave it out, if I park right in front Snoopy could still see me in the window. So we get to the bank, I tell Snoopy to stay and be a good dog and I get Emma out and tell her to be a good girl. We get into the bank, I put Emma on the floor (she's in her carrier) and look back at my car. To my surprise Snoopy is just looking at me, he's not screaming like someone is hurting him and then I look down at Emma who is looking up a me with a huge smile on her face! It was like she was saying to me "see you can do this, Mom!". And I had to laugh at myself! Perhaps maybe it's all in my head that my child (and dog) want to scream in public!!
Today I have two checks to deposit which means I'll have to venture even further into the bank!

Looking back and stepping forward
I have been putting together Emma's baby book and have had such a fun time looking back over this blog for dates and details! I am so glad I did this and I know Emma is really going to enjoy reading it when she is older. I decided I am going to keep it up, even if I have no readers (although I think it will be fun for her to see other people's comments too HINT HINT!).
I found the New Mommy advice cards that people filled out at my New Mexico shower and some of them really struck a cord now that Emma is here! Here are a couple good ones:
Follow your gut feelings they are usually right - Love you MOM (I'd like to have this one printed in large letters and hung above Emma's crib!)
Have patience! Every stage goes by so fast. When it's difficult it will pass soon!!!!!!! Good Luck!! - Eric Caffrey (Going to tape "When it's difficult it will pass soon" on my mirror!!)
And I have to include this one because it is just so "Shelby" -

Life with a 1 1/2 month old.....
Whew! Where did the past month and a half go??? Tomorrow Emma will be seven weeks old.
I have to say the first two weeks with her home were a dream, she slept most of the time and I usually had to wake her to feed her. We barely heard a peep from her.
Then suddenly on the third week she woke up and so did her stomach! From the third week on she's been very cranky with lots of gas. She was also eating every two hours which was such a huge strain on me - I almost gave up the breastfeeding on several occasions out of sheer exhaustion from doing it every two hours for 40 minutes at a clip. It takes it out of you for sure.
On Emma's second doctor visit she weighed 9 lbs 4 ozs and was 21 1/2 inches! So it was good to know that all that feeding was doing some good. The doctor thought she was being overfed and suggested that I stretch out her feedings to every three hours. Boy has this new schedule pissed her off!! If she's awake she's crying and since she doesn't nap much she's crying most of the day. Unless she is eating of course. So the 3 hour stretches are better for me but Emma hasn't really gotten used to them yet! Will we ever find a place where we both can be happy??
And on the other hand she has slept through the night for the past four nights!! So for that I am extremely grateful, at least when she is cranky all day I am dealing with it well rested, which I know helps 100%.
Despite everything, I can't stop thinking about what a miracle she is and how amazing the whole process has been. From the first moment we saw her as a tiny spec in my tummy to the day she was born from every cry, poop, burp and fart...she is truly a miracle. We waited so long to have her so I am savoring every moment, even the cranky ones.

Emma Grace's Arrival
(I know that many of you have heard Emma's birth story - but I want to capture it so that one day when she reads this blog she'll have the story)
May 19, 2009 - Seemed like a pretty normal day. Andrew went to work and Snoopy and I hung out around the house. I took a nap in the morning and then got a burst of energy in the afternoon and decided to take Snoopy for a walk. It was just going to be a short walk but we managed to make our entire loop!
Later that day Andy came home and made an awesome dinner and prepared to leave for his softball game. I had decided not to join him this time and am glad I did. As he was walking out the door he asked me to grab his laptop that he had left on the floor so that Snoopy would not eat the straps. Well, right as I bent down to get it I felt a sudden warm gush and knew right away that my water was breaking. I yelled to Andy Ummm...my water just broke as he was in the garage and he turned around and entered the house. We struggled for a bit as to whether or not we needed to call the doctor and decided to go ahead and call her. Andrew got the call service and we were told the doctor would call us back. In the meantime I started making last minute packing arrangements and started to freak out about my dog. Where would he go at 8:00 pm? Contractions started pretty shortly after that! It seemed like forever until the doctor called us back and it was determined that we needed to head to the hospital. So luckily Andy's parents agreed to take Snoopy for the night and Andy and I rushed around trying to get everything together. We had packed mostly everything beforehand but it was still a scramble.
In the car, I sat in the back and Snoopy say up front with Andy. Believe me it's easier than having him all over my lap while having contractions!!! My contractions really started to pick up in the car! We dropped Snoopy off at Andy's parents and headed over to Chilton.
Everyone in the Emergency Room was so nice to us and I remember just trying to stay calm all the while dealing with stronger contractions. We were wheeled up into labor and delivery and escorted into our room. I remember changing into the gown and getting up into the bed and thinking wow this is really happening! The nurse asked me some questions, weird things, like have you been to Africa and stuff like that. She asked how I wanted to handle the pain and I told her I wanted an epidural. I got the IV and she checked me out to see how dilated I was. I was only 2 centimeters!!
I asked the nurse if it was normal to feel the urge to want to puke and she told me yes and I said No I mean like right now and she quickly handed me a blue tub - All of the delicious meal Andy had made!!!
The nurse asked if I wanted the epidural anytime soon and I said yes please - those contractions were hurting and I had a couple of people tell me to get it early.
The wait for the epidural seemed to last forever and each contraction sent me into a shivering shaking ball of agony. I tried to breathe but it just didn't help! Once the anesthesiologist arrived I was ready for what I had been so afraid of and watched bravely as Andrew left the room. It seemed to take forever for the anesthesiologist to be finished and when they said it would take about 10 minutes to kick in I didn't think I'd make it.
Eventually the medicine kicked in - the nurse dimmed the lights - Andy grabbed a blanket and pillow and settled into the reclining chair in the corner and we tried to relax. I wanted to sleep but with the blood pressure monitor going off every 20 minutes and the shakes I had from the medicine there was no sleep. That 70's show was having a marathon so I tried to watch that.
At about 4am there was a lot of rustling coming from the hallways and I figured someone must have been brought in for labor. My thoughts were confirmed when I started to hear screaming. I don't mean just everyday average screaming this was blood curdling screaming, cursing and thrashing! It went on for what seemed like an eternity and I started to get really scared and didn't think I'd be able to go through labor. Andy and I just kept giving each other these looks! Finally my nurse came in and told me that the woman came in fully dilated and had no medication and that my delivery would be better. Once she set my mind at ease she checked me out and to my surprise and delight the pelvic exam did not hurt and even greater than that I was fully dilated. The nurse said let me call the doctor and we can start pushing. I couldn't believe it! I thought for sure I'd be lying in that bed throughout the next day waiting. We started pushing and about 35 minutes later little Emma was born. I felt no pain, no discomfort, I was completely calm and ready to meet my child.
When she did come out they put her on my tummy and Andy and I were just so in awe of the whole thing that we forgot to ask what we had just had. The doctor must have assumed that we knew - at the same time we both were like "What is it" and we were both amazed when they said girl!
And that my friends is how Emma Grace came into this world.....

Dr. Appointment Update
So yesterday we saw Dr. Dombo at 4:20 pm and then proceeded to my sister-in-law's house to help Andy's Mom celebrate her birthday. I didn't get a chance to promptly update the blog and I know many of you are wondering how it went.
First any of you who told me the pelvic exam is not so bad lied to me! It was very painful and uncomfortable and I was cramping for the rest of the evening - NOT FUN. I begged the baby to try to come before Thursday when I have to get another one but then Andy reminded me that in the hospital during Labor they check your cervix several times.... plus I guess I shouldn't complain because I am sure that a pelvic exam is NOTHING compared to the rest of it. Although my granny will remind me that there are good drugs to be had! :)
So, everything was good with me and baby G. The heartbeat sounded great and my blood pressure was perfect. The pelvic exam reveled that my cervix is still thick and at 1 cm - so really no change. The Dr. said I still had awhile - but we will see - only baby knows!
Next appointment (if we make it) is Thursday May 21st - which is 2 days after the due date the ultrasound tech gave me (May 19th) one day before the original due date we received at our first ultrasound (May 22) and 4 days before the 25th which is the due date the doctors gave me just recently!
If you haven't gotten in on the baby pool - there is still time!!!

Friday's Dr.Appt
Our doctor's appointment yesterday afternoon was routine and everything is as it should be.
My blood pressure is good, baby's heart beat is strong. We'll go back next Friday afternoon which will be about 39 weeks - they will do a pelvic exam and take a look at my cervix.
I feel great, am not uncomfortable (except if I have to bend down or ride in the car for too long) and sleep like a champ!
We are pretty much ready - I have started thinking about packing a hospital bag, now I just need to do it. LOL
I'll keep you updated.......

37 Weeks and Counting.......
Hey All,
Today makes 37 weeks!!! We are now at term - which is so cool and crazy all at the same time. Now that Andy is back from Seattle I feel comfortable knowing that this baby could come any day!
We had our weekly doctor appointment today and everything was great. We saw Dr. Newman today who is my favorite. My blood pressure was good, baby measuring good and is in the right position and has a strong heartbeat.
I feel great, have been getting lots of rest and have been having lots of Braxton Hicks contractions!
We are pretty much all set here - there are a few little odds and ends we need to purchase and a couple of things we still want to do in the nursery but we are mostly ready.
I'll put some 37 week pics up and will also get the long awaited nursery pictures up too.
Next appointment is next Friday at 4:30 PM!
Today makes 37 weeks!!! We are now at term - which is so cool and crazy all at the same time. Now that Andy is back from Seattle I feel comfortable knowing that this baby could come any day!

Dr. Appointment
Good Evening -
Andy and I had the final two week doctor appointment this evening!! Everything was great - I had lost a little weight which concerned me but the nurse said that happens - plus once I got to thinking about it, I am not sitting in front of a computer all day. I am going for a walk everyday (when it is nice) and doing stuff around the house. So it makes since and as long as it's normal.
Blood Pressure was perfect, babies heart rate was Strong and steady. Baby's head is still in the right position and my belly is measuring right where it should be for this week!
We are 36 weeks tomorrow! Can't believe it. Next Doctor's appointment is next Friday at 1:30pm.

34 Weeks today - and hospital tour!
Okay - I'll get Andy to take a picture of my belly when he gets home.
Today makes 34 weeks - I can't even believe how quickly it has all gone.
We went on the hospital tour on Wednesday night and for me, it all really started to sink in when we were at the hospital. The new maternity ward at Chilton is so nice. The waiting room is wonderful with comfortable seating, a computer with Internet, flat screen TV, relaxing fish tank and a coffee machine that makes everything from espresso to coffee (all for free!). The labor and delivery rooms were state of the art and such a nice place to bring a little one into this world! The recovery room was also just as nice - almost like a room at the Hilton. The best part is the hospital offers a celebratory dinner on the night before you are discharged and Andy and I took a look at the menu - they had steak and lobster, strip steak, and much more and the desserts were also out of this world! What a nice touch!!! I can't wait to be there and to see the little bambino that is kicking the tar out of my ribs!!!

Dr. Appointment Update
Andrew and I met with Dr. Domenitz this afternoon for our two week checkup.
We had a great checkup- my blood pressure was great, baby is measuring just where he/she should be and the heartbeat sounded great.
The best news is that Dr. D said the placenta is okay where it is and that we won't schedule a c-section! YAY!! I mean, of course, something else could happen where I would need one but it won't be because of the placenta.
Andy and I are going to tour the hospital tomorrow night and I am really looking forward to it - our hospital just finished doing a complete makeover to the maternity wing and from what I hear it is awesome! I'll tell you all about it tomorrow night.

30 Weeks

I am hoping someone took some pictures from the shower that I can share here but here are some pictures of all of the "stuff" after the shower. Once I get some more pictures from the shower I'll put them up. It was such a great day and Barbara and Karen worked so hard on the day.
You can see a little bit of the border on the wall in the pictures, a corner of the crib and the beautiful closet Andy and I spent ALL DAY putting up. The closet doors are being painted as we speak.

Ultrasound Recap
Yesterday Andrew and I had another ultrasound. Everything went well, baby is 4.5 pounds, we could clearly see all of the hair (looked like a Mohawk), the tech said the baby has a small head and long legs. She didn't spend too much time on the baby and we did not get any pictures this time - I think it is because at this stage we would clearly be able to tell the sex of the baby. So she was very careful!
Here is the deal with the placenta - they measure the distance of the placenta from the cervix each time to determine if there is going to be a problem. Usually about 3 centimeters from the cervix is normal. The last time I had in ultrasound I was about 2 centimeters and this time it was 2.8 centimeters. The tech seemed optimistic that I would be able to have a natural birth but said that is the doctors ultimate call. Some doctors who are more conservative will order a c-section even with the 3 centimeters. We have another appointment with Dr. Dominitez next Tuesday (April 7th) so we will find out more from him. It might not be something we can determine until we get closer and they might want to have another ultrasound.
Had a very busy week last week with loosing my job and then my NJ baby shower was Sunday. It was really really nice! I have some pictures to share and I will do that later today.

Dr. Appt Update
Andrew and I met this evening with the last doctor in the practice who we needed to meet - Dr. Dambo. We both really liked Dr. Dambo! She is new to the practice and seems younger. She was very nice and knew what she was doing.
Everything is great - blood pressure was good, I've gained a couple of pounds, my belly measured at 31 inches and the babies heart beat was nice a strong.
We asked what happens if at the ultrasound on Monday the placenta hasn't moved and she was very confident that we would find that it has moved. She even told us that it had moved from the last appointment to the most recent one we had. Dr. Mohommad didn't mention this but I guess they measure where it is each time and it had moved. Not completely off the cervix but we are getting there. So she thinks we will find good results on Monday. She also seemed very confidant that a c-section would not be needed!

Birthing/Lamaze Class
Andy and I spent most all day on Saturday at a "Birthing" class we signed up for through the hospital. It was actually a very good class and I am so glad we took it. Even if it did take up all of the day.
We mostly went over when to go to the hospital, the stages of labor and what to expect, breathing and pain management, etc. The teacher was an RN from the hospital who works the night shift. She has also just had a baby so she really had a lot of helpful information. I think just knowing what to expect (as much as I can) and what is going on with my body and the baby throughout the process will be such a big help. I am very glad we took this class and I feel a little more at ease with the labor and delivery process.
The class took a tour of the hospital after the class but Andy and I needed to get home to let the dog out. They have tours on Sundays and Wednesday nights so we'll call soon to get a tour. It will be helpful to know where everything is! We will be giving birth at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains, NJ ( http://www.chiltonmemorial.org/) if anyone is interested. This hospital is right down the street from our old condo.
We have a doctor's appointment tomorrow night with the final doctor from the practice, Dr. Dombo. Will post an update and picture after the appointment.

Test Results...
Well I almost had a heart attack when my phone rang earlier today here at the office. My caller ID said "Associates for Women's Health" - which is my doctors office. I knew my test results would be in this week but they said they would only call if there was a problem!! So freaking out I answered the phone. The lady told me she was just looking at my test results and that the glucose test was fine - phew! I don't have to drink anymore of that sugar water. But I was thinking okay then what is wrong and she went on to tell me that the only thing she is a little concerned about is that I am border line anemic. Phew! She just wants me to increase my iron intake - keep taking the prenatal but also eat more foods that are iron rich.
So that's it - I am so glad that I don't have to go for the bigger, longer glucose test!
We are approaching 30 weeks - on Friday I'll take a 30 week picture and post it here. I've also been promising some nursery pics and since we put the crib together last weekend I have lots to share.

Glucose = YUCK!
So this morning at about 6:55 am I drank the dreaded Glucose sugar drink that has been sitting in my fridge for several weeks. It was a lemon lime flavor and really wasn't too bad - if you like to drink sugar water. Then I headed to my 7:45 am appointment.
I met with the 3rd doctor in the practice - Dr. Mohommed. She was nice. I don't know if it was because it was so early in the morning but she did seem a little spacey. They took 4 viles of blood - one for the glucose and the others were for HIV, CSV and something else. I think they already tested for these things when I had all the bloodwork done early on but for some reason they do it again. If there is anything wrong with the bloodwork I will hear in a week - if I don't hear anything then we are ok.
All is well, I gained 1 pound, my blood pressure was perfect and the baby's heart beat was nice and loud and strong.
Now that we are in the 3rd trimester things should start getting more interesting and I'll be blogging more. So stay tuned!
Next appointment is in three weeks (now we starting going every three weeks) March 24th and my next ultrasound will be the week of April 1st.

Ultrasound Pics
We didn't get to play with the 3d today but here are the pictures from today - the big bump thing that it looks like the baby is kissing is the placenta:

Andy and I were at the Hospital bright and early this morning for an ultrasound to check to see if the placenta had moved off the cervix and to check on the cyst.
Well, the cyst is still there and the tech really did not seemed worried about whether or not that would go away. The placenta is still covering the cervix! I'll go back in another 6 weeks to see if it's moved or not. Again, not a big deal, if it doesn't move by the time its time for the baby to be here I'll just have to have a c-section.
The baby looked good - he or she is 2 lbs 4 ozs and is measuring now to May 19th so the due date has been moved up another day! The tech also pointed out that the baby has ALOT of hair! She said she usually doesn't see so much hair at 26 weeks. So the baby will have a nice full head of hair when born, maybe even like ZZ Top. LOL :)
Other than that, all is well. I feel good and will post the ultrasound pics tonight from home.

Upcoming
Hi All,
Our next ultrasound is scheduled for next Tuesday, February 17th so keep those fingers crossed that the placenta has moved and the cyst is gone. :) Make a note to check back here later that day for an update - the appointment is at 8 am.
Not much else going on - I feel bigger although everyone keeps telling me I don't look pregnant- which is getting kind of annoying - I guess everyone wants me to look large!
We are moving along slowly with the nursery but after about 10 paint sample colors of different colors we have finally found a winner and that is the first step!
Andy is in Orlando starting today through Thursday and I am ready for him to come home already!

Dr. Appointment
Hi All,
Last night Andy and I had our Feb. doctors appointment with Dr. Domenitz. It was a pretty standard in and out appointment. Weight, Blood Pressure, Belly size are all good. Doc said babies anatomy was perfect and that the heartbeat was nice and steady. I asked if I was too small because that what everyone keeps telling me and he said I was perfect!He said the placenta issue should correct itself as my uterus gets bigger. I'll have another ultrasound in the next couple of weeks to check to see if its moved and if that cyst has gone away too. I keep telling the baby to reach over and try to rupture the cyst, maybe he or she is listening! So the next doctor's appointment is March 4th and it will be a little more exciting as I have to do the glucose test and also get the Rhogam shot for my A- blood. I'll post some more pictures of my belly soon and will of course update and let you know when the next ultrasound is.
Otherwise all is well. I feel good and can feel lots of movement! We purchased the nursery furniture, Andy's mom bought the crib and we got the dresser and a night stand. The dresser is in our garage in a box and the rest of it should be coming soon. We also have the glider from my mom sitting in a big box in our Family Room. We are getting the new carpet in about 3 weeks so the pressure is on to get that nursery painted. We've picked out paint samples so we are getting there! As soon as it's all done I'll be sure to post some pictures.

3rd Ultrasound
Andy and I were at the hospital bright and early this morning to have our followup ultrasound to check on the low lying placenta and cervical cyst.
The cyst is still there but the technician and doctor are confident that it is truly a cyst and is NOT my cervix dilating. I guess the two look very similar in the ultrasound images so they just want to be extra sure that it's a cyst.

My placenta is also still laying low - or covering a little bit of my cervix - the tech said it should move as I get bigger but it still needs to be monitored and I still can't lift anything heavy and need to take it easy.
I have to go back at 28 weeks to have another look - I am 22 now so that's about 6 weeks. Our next Dr. appointment is Monday, Feb. 2nd.
The best part about today is that we got to get another look at the lil peanut! We even got to see him/her in 3-D and the Tech gave us a ton of GREAT pictures!!! She said he or she was very stubborn because he/she would not move his or her hands away from the face. The tech kept trying to get the baby to move but the baby wouldn't cooperate - finally the baby moved it's tiny little hands away and we got to see some great images of the baby's face! Andy, the Tech and I all thought the baby is super cute!

20 Week Dr. Appointment

Everything is good - she had not received the ultrasound information yet but said if there were any major issues the hospital would have called.
I told her about the cyst and the low lying placenta and she said both were very common, nothing to worry about just need to be monitored. So we will go back in two weeks to see.
Other than that we just had typical appointment - weight, blood pressure, babies heartbeat, etc.

20 Week Ultrasound
Good Morning -
Andy and I went to our 20 week ultrasound at the hospital this morning.
It was very cool! I have been feeling lots of movement recently and that was one of the first things we noticed was that the baby likes to move!
I'll post the pictures later tonight but according to the ultrasound technician everything looked good with the baby.
We saw it's head, ears, eyes, leg and feet, spine, and more. When she was trying to get a picture of the hand she said he or she was holding the cord and then right then the baby lifted three fingers one at a time - that was really cute!
Our due date was moved up 2 days so we are now counting down to May 20!
The heartbeat was 150 and NO we did not find out the sex nor did we see anything that gave us a clue.
I have a cyst on my cervix that was covering up a portion of the cervix and they could not get a proper measurement so I do have to go back in 2 weeks and also the placenta is covering the cervix a little bit so I have to be VERY careful - no heavy lifting, hula dancing or hallway painting. Not a big deal they will check it again in 2 weeks to see if it has moved - if it doesn't move by the due date I'll have to get a c-section.

Well today marks 20 weeks! We are halfway there!!!!
We just returned from a wonderful trip to NM to see family. My grandma, aunt, mom and cousin threw a really nice shower for Andy and I. The food was out of this world (THANK YOU SARAH!) the company was great, I enjoyed all of the games (even the poo poo chocolate diapers!) and everyone gave such nice gifts. Thank you all and it was so wonderful to see all of you!
Monday Andy and I go for my 20 week ultrasound and we are really excited! We will NOT be finding out the sex, but you all believe it is a boy anyway so if you all know already then we don't need to find out! :) We also have our 20 week doctor appointment on the following day (Tuesday).
Everyone has been asking for Belly pics so I'll start a week by week journal now that I have a little something to show.
I feel great and have lots of movement from lil baby gulia.
